The Grammar School at Leeds' Transport company (GTL), based within the school campus at Alwoodley Gates, Harrogate Road, LS17, is looking to recruit for new PCV Coach Drivers to join on a permanent basis or as part of their driving supply pool.
The company provides coaches/buses for a variety of work which includes school contracts, private hire work and excursion work. Due to the expansion of the company with private hire jobs we are now seeking a permanent driver (see hours below) and casual drivers who would be available mainly during school holiday periods and weekends, though there may also be possible cover needed during term time if required.
Applicants must a full Cat D PCV Licence and Driver CPC qualification. In addition we are seeking experienced bus/coach drivers from any background, and who have strong customer service skills, a positive attitude and can work well with pupils, staff and parents.
The permanent hours of work are as follows: 42 hours per week (term time) plus 20 days, on a three week shift pattern two weeks of 33 hours and one week of 60 hours – Mon – Fri but will include some Saturdays on a rota basis with additional hours available as required.
Main duties for drivers include:
• Driving the school vehicles in accordance with the legal requirements and GSAL transport procedures; reporting any faults or failures promptly, use of tachograph when appropriate and ensuring that all fare collecting equipment is operational and working effectively, should cover be required on a school bus route.
• Reporting of any incidents immediately to the General Manager.
• Keeping the vehicle clean and tidy at all times.
