We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Governor to join our professional and dynamic Governing Body as soon as possible.

As a Governor at Liberty College, you will support the development of the college in line with the college’s development plan, supporting and challenging leaders to deliver excellence of the children, families and staff.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who will inspire and motivate our learners, staff and families to deliver the best possible learning outcomes. No experience is needed as full induction and ongoing training will be provided but if you do have experience, even better.

This is a voluntary role, travel expenses incurred as a result of fulfilling your role as governor will be reimbursed. You will be required to attend six meetings per academic year, one per half term.

We had our Ofsted in June 2022 which judged us to be good, but we want to be excellent. If you feel you are the right candidate to help us on our journey, we would love to have you on our team!

Information about the school

At Liberty College, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to better themselves. We help young people aged 16-25 develop employability and life skills in a fun and friendly way, using a combination of activities, hands-on learning and unique teaching methods. We embrace opportunities to learn outside the classroom, from paintballing to trips to Disneyland Paris.

Our college has gone from strength to strength over the years and we are at a very exciting stage in our development.

We have a relaxed atmosphere in our college, and our team aren't like traditional teachers- we are more like motivational speakers or support coaches. We don't just teach skills but are there to help and guide young people in all areas of their life. Our experienced team are down-to-earth and approachable. We understand that each of our learners is unique, and we respect and embrace their individual differences.

We have small group sizes with up to 8 in a group, depending on the needs of the individual learners.
