We are extremely excited to be opening a Combined Cadet Force RAF contingent in conjunction with Ministry of Defence at Southmoor Academy from September 2019.

In addition to leading the CCF at Southmoor Academy which includes running a Monday evening session between 3.00 and 5.00 pm every week, we are looking for a highly skilled, capable individual who is able to develop our enrichment offer and has the training, knowledge and skills to deliver and co-ordinate sessions for students disengaged from learning within our wider alternative provision.

The role will involve developing and delivering sessions such as foot drills, navigation, physical activity, first aid, field craft etc, to students while making links to their core curriculum. The role will initially be for one year due to funding, however if successful, we are committed to embedding the CCF and this role as part of our core school provision.

If you are the person we are looking for, you will have a services background combined with excellent interpersonal skills, both in terms of challenging students to ensure their behavior and conduct is of the highest standard both at school and in the community, and to motivate and inspire our young people to achieve the best they can.

You will have excellent organisational skills, to co-ordinate with the MoD to make full use of available resources to benefit students, and ensure that associated administrative duties including risk assessments, health and safety are completed in line with school and MoD requirements.  Furthermore, you will be able to commit to a minimum of 10 days during school holiday periods and at least three weekends per year to attend training and run and accompany students on activities and events.

In return we offer fantastic support from both the MoD and in school working alongside an exciting and dynamic team committed to creating an inclusive and aspirational school.
