Combined Lecturer Assessor (Engineering)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the existing Engineering Team in a growing and diversifying department with excellent facilities. Preferably you should be a strong all round engineer, focused on mechanical and manufacturing with vocational qualifications and industrial experience, or a relevant degree. You will also need to possess a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards this qualification whilst in the role.  

The role may involve delivering practical skills in the workshop and theory sessions in the classroom as well as assessing learner progress through their qualifications. The successful candidate may teach across a variety of programmes including Level 2, Level 3 Extended Diplomas, HNC/HND programmes in Engineering and perform assessments of apprentices in the workplace.  

This appointment may be of interest to an experienced engineer who is not currently qualified or experienced as a Lecturer and/or Assessor and therefore support to achieve the qualifications required could be given to the right candidate.

Qualified Rate  Qualified applicants would commence on the Combined Lecturer Assessor Pay Scale, rising annually incrementally from Point 7 (£26,406.00 per annum) to Point 9 (£29,631.00 per annum). In addition, a skills shortage uplift of up to £3,000 could be payable for the successful applicant (depending on skills and experience).  

Unqualified Rate  Unqualified applicants would commence on the Combined Lecturer Assessor pay scale, rising annually incrementally from Point 3 (£21,507.00 per annum) to Point 6 (£25,215.00 per annum). In addition, a skills shortage uplift of up to £3,000 could be payable for the successful applicant (depending on skills and experience).
