Commercial/Business Manager

Livability Education provides bespoke and personalised learning programmes to children, young people and adults with a range of physical and learning needs.

As part of Livability Education’s commitment to providing first-class education to those who need us, we are expanding in 2022 and are seeking a highly skilled Commercial/Business Manager to support the Livability Education Directorate.

This will include an exciting development of an Enterprise Centre running alongside our new college. Livability Education currently operates two settings, and is expanding to three in 2022 with further growth planned in the future.

As Education Commercial/Business Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of business performance, plus oversight and support of local enterprise operational delivery teams.

You will play a crucial support role to the Director for Education and local Headteachers, and lead on the development of a commercial provision based at Holton Heath in Dorset. This is a highly commercial role, with the focus on delivering best value, generating new income opportunities and cost efficiencies in a challenging funding environment.

You will be a visiting member of the Senior Leadership Teams within each setting and will be required to make a significant contribution to the overall organisation, management and performance of each provision.

You should be able to evidence current commercial experience alongside a sound understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory body frameworks including Ofsted and CQC.

The Business/Commercial Manager will work closely with the Executive Team and should have an understanding of the challenges of starting new provisions and have demonstrable experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will preferably have experience in supporting and leading the back office functions of a multi-school or academy trust setting, ideally in the independent or special needs sector.

The role involves occasional travel between Dorset and Kent, but can be based at any of the 3 sites.
