Job overview

Compliance Manager

37 hours per week, all year round

£36,379 – £41,025 per annum

Trinity Multi-Academy Trust is a forward thinking, vibrant and rapidly growing trust and our people are key to our continued growth and success.

We are a Diocesan multi-academy trust, committed to working within a respectful and compassionate environment. Our CEO is a National Leader of Education and our flagship academy, Trinity Academy Halifax is designated as a National Support School through its work in improving other schools.

As well as our cross-phase provision, the trust hosts the Trinity Teaching School Alliance (led by Trinity Academy Halifax). In addition, the academy also gained Maths Hub status, with the West Yorkshire Maths Hub being just one of just 35 schools in the country to be given this accolade. These initiatives benefit the staff across our family of schools by providing specialist support from some of the best practitioners and leaders, regardless of location.

The trust currently comprises of 5 academies, including secondary, primary and a post-16 free school. We are set to increase the number of academies within the trust over the next 12 months.

Due to recent developments, we currently have a vacancy for a Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Manager to ensure good practice in data protection, safeguarding, health and safety and governance across the trust. You will be instrumental in the implementation of the new General Data Protection Regulation and therefore, knowledge of this legislation would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will work closely with all departments within the trust and with all academies to develop, embed and ensure policies and processes are robust and effective, ensuring that data protection is adhered to in all areas. A confident communicator, you will deliver high quality training to all colleagues, including governors, to ensure that they are fully aware of their responsibilities and take an active role in promoting best practice across the trust.

To excel in this role, it would be beneficial for you to have previous experience of advising on Data Protection/compliance and be able to communicate effectively.

This is a new, diverse role and provides an exciting opportunity to join an expanding multi-academy trust, with a supportive and encouraging staff base.

You will be based at Trinity Academy Halifax.  However, the nature of the role requires regular travel to the trust’s academies so it essential for the successful candidate to be able to drive and have the use of a car for business use.

Closing date for applications: noon on 19 March 2018

Trinity Multi Academy Trust is a Diocesan multi academy trust that is open to schools of all faiths and none. The trust is committed to working within a respectful and compassionate environment and exists to serve the students in its care. We encourage all schools within the trust to celebrate their distinctive identity, whilst actively supporting each other to share best practice and their commitment to continual improvement.

In 2010, when Trinity Academy Halifax (TAH) opened in Calderdale, the plan was to address a decade of underperformance at secondary school level. Since then the academy has been rated as ‘outstanding’ twice. It has also established Trinity Institute of Education (formerly Trinity Teaching School Alliance) and the West Yorkshire Maths Hub, both of which have helped to raise pupil performance in hundreds of schools across the country.

In 2015 Trinity MAT was established. It now contains ten academies covering from nursery stage through to post-16, including two brand new secondary schools which opened in September 2021. The MAT has seen numerous educational changes but one thing has remained constant; we know what works, and so we have formed a group of like-minded schools to make a positive difference on a wider scale.

Our people are key to our continued growth and success. There is a relentless focus on improving standards for all children and young people in our care.  Working within the trust gives all staff the opportunity to work with some of the best practitioners and leaders, regardless of your location.

Our improvement strategies are based on clear systems and support, from our outstanding behaviour systems to regular teacher led CPD sessions, the trust recognises the value of empowering staff through quality weekly CPD, training and support. At the heart of our people strategies are the opportunities for staff at all levels to develop and progress their career.
