Job overview

About us

Doha College is a high-profile leading British International School in Qatar delivering a well-balanced, all-embracing English National Curriculum to students aged 3–18. The College was also the first High Performance Learning accredited school in the world. With 2,500 students and 350 staff, the school is a vibrant international community that subscribes to equal opportunities for all. An exciting time for the school, last year we moved to a brand-new, 90,000m² state-of-the-art campus, amalgamating two previous sites and ensuring the College’s place at the forefront of educational provision in world-class facilities.

The opportunity

We are now looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to start in August 2022.

The department consists of three full-time teachers and is at the forefront of leading and supporting digital technology to enhance the learning for all students. It offers a wide range of courses, including IGCSE and A Level Computer Science, and applicants should be able to demonstrate success in all age groups.

Alongside an academic focus, we also offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, aimed at increasing learning of the subject and promoting the uptake of the subject at GCSE and A Level. The department offers a number of enrichment activities, including Botball, Alice programming and The National Robotics Olympiad, where we have an enviable record of success.

All our classrooms are equipped with interactive smartboards and displays; all students are furnished with an iPad upon entry, and staff and students use Google Classroom.

About you

As a Computer Science Teacher, you will be teaching all key stages and be responsible for instilling a passion for your subjects in students, monitoring and evaluating student achievements as well as contributing to accomplishing the College’s vision and mission.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding role model within the Computer Science Department and Doha College as a whole. Candidates should have demonstrated success in their current role, be highly motivated and successful practitioners and above all else, have a real passion for the subject.

We are a British international school, and all of our lessons are taught in English; therefore, a high standard of written and spoken English is essential, along with a detailed knowledge of the UK National Curriculum. Applicants should be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including co-curricular activities.
