Job overview
Canons High School is a vibrant and dynamic multicultural school community in Edgware, NW London. Our school is renowned for being one in which people matter. Relationships are strong, opportunities for progression are many and the personal and professional development of adults and children is at the heart of what we do.
At Canons, we pride ourselves on the training and development of all our staff so that students are taught effectively and supported within and beyond the classroom to the highest levels. School leaders at all levels are well-equipped to use their professional judgment and a wide range of information to challenge and engage all students to achieve success, identify underachievement, act upon it and help students get back on track. We offer a well-balanced three year KS3 programme that enables students to enjoy success in their GCSE exams, which begin in Year 10.
We are looking to recruit a teacher of computer science to work within the Faculty of Computer Science, Design and Technology. This would suit a colleague who is an inspirational classroom practitioner and who has the expertise to prepare students to be active participants in the future digital world. Within Key Stage 3, our curriculum is deeply concerned with how computers and computer systems work, how they are designed and programmed which builds students’ technical skills and their understanding of how design and technology impacts on our world. Students are able to progress on to either GCSE Computer Science, GCSE Product Design and BTEC Level 2 Digital Information Technology at Key Stage 4 and BTEC Level 3 Information Technology and A Level Computer Science at Key Stage 5. A Curriculum Leader would work with our Faculty Leader and Teaching and Learning Leaders to ensure high quality curriculum provision that reflects our ethos.
