Job overview
Full-time or Part-time Teacher of Computer Science
Stonar is one of the UK’s leading independent, non-selective boarding schools for pupils aged 3 to 18 and we pride ourselves on our ability to nurture the learning needs of every individual in a respectful, supportive and globally-minded community. Pupils regularly achieve outstanding results which are beyond expectations both academically and personally. All teaching staff are expected to proactively support the pastoral aims of our busy school. The school has recently become co-educational and boys are now fully integrated into all year groups. Stonar is situated in over 80 acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside, yet only a 20 minute drive from the World Heritage City of Bath and within easy reach of the M4 corridor.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and inspiring teacher of Computer Science to join a committed and friendly department. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified, imaginative and enthusiastic teacher who can drive the subject forward in the Senior School, with a view to introducing the GCSE course in 2020. This could be a pert-time position or could be combined with a second subject, possibly mathematics, to become full-time.
Computer Science is taught in two fully equipped computer suites, which allow for the appropriate use of hardware, software and interactive boards.
Stonar is part of the Globeducate group of schools, an expanding global family with schools in Europe and India. A willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of this busy boarding school is required.
