Computer Science Teacher 

The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) is looking to employ a Computer Science Teacher. This is a full time role and to commence 1st September, 2022. 

BSAK is the British Embassy school in the UAE.  BSAK is not for profit and is non selective.  It is over 50 years old, and has an enviable reputation throughout the country and beyond.  It is currently the winner of the Schools Compared ‘Best British School’ and ‘Best Sixth Form’ awards across the UAE. BSAK’s pay scale is among the best in the region.

The candidate will be a UK qualified teacher with either a QTS honours Degree in Computer Studies or a PGCE qualification. The candidate should possess relevant subject teaching experience.

Essential 

The ability to program in Python (understanding of Java programming language would be an advantage)

Comprehension of theory based units at both key stage 3 and GCSE computer science

Desirable

Comprehension of theory based units for A-Level Computer Science

Experience of NEA at both GCSE and A-Level

Students in key stage 3 are given 3 hours per fortnight of Computer Science.  The Computer Science department offers CIE IGCSE Computer Science (0984) for key stage 4 students and CIE A-Level Computer Science (9618) for sixth form students.
