We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join our Computer Science department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who really wants to make a difference to the lives of young people. Our single goal is ‘Students First’ and you will be joining a strong team of professionals working to this sole aim.

This post is open to applications from both ECT and qualified candidates.

The successful candidate will:

  • Join a team of three specialist teachers who teach in well equipped IT suites. Computer Science is taught one hour a week to all students in Key Stage 3. In Key Stage 4 we offer OCR GCSE Computer Science (9-1) J277. Business Studies is introduced as an option subject in Key Stage 4. 
  • Have access to an excellent CPD programme for both ECT & qualified colleagues. The National Teaching Agency has recognised the supportive and well-managed ECT programme at Outwood Academy Hemsworth. During a recent inspection of our provision, the NTA assessor commented that 'the school is providing a rich experience for its ECTs, they are valued members of staff who have plenty of opportunity to develop their skills.
  • As an 11-18 school, staff can progress their expertise to teaching at Post 16 on either A level or BTEC qualifications.

OGAT are proud to be a part of the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT). The NIoT identifies best practice in education, in order to develop cutting-edge, evidence-based teacher training and professional development programmes. OGAT colleagues will benefit from the work of the institute, which draws on the expertise of some of the most outstanding school leaders in education today.
