Job overview
Are you looking for a teaching role, where you can devote time to educating international students with the highest aspirations? Our student body is diverse, inspiring and ever-growing in number. Consequently, an exciting opportunity has arisen to teach within the Mathematics & Computing Department. Currently, Computing forms part of the curriculum for our various preparatory programmes (PRE-KS4 and PRE-KS5 one-year programmes). In the longer term, Computing will be incorporated into more traditional study paths, such as GCSE and A-level, potentially the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, and the University Foundation Programme. Therefore, the ability to teach Computing at both GCSE and A-level is essential.
We are looking for a teacher who can harness the international contexts of our classrooms and offer an inclusive environment for students to engage in dialogue and develop their academic skills. Applicants should also evidence a commitment to their professional development. There are opportunities at Worthgate for successful applicants to undertake the NPQ qualifications (Leading Teacher Development, Senior Leadership, NPQ SENCO) with us in partnership with UCL and multiple teachers enrol on these NPQ programmes each year. Since we belong to a wider group of schools (CATS Global Schools), the academic team benefit from cross-school collaborations and events. Staff are encouraged to identify and contribute to such professional relationships.
For September 2025, we are looking for a person who has:
• Subject specialism in Computing, with a degree in a related discipline;
• A proven record of excellent and reflective classroom practice;
• Responsive teaching strategies that incorporate high quality feedback and a focus on literacy;
• Enthusiasm for continued professional learning;
• Ability to share a global perspective regarding the importance and usefulness of Computing in society;
• Commitment to ensuring our students have an enriched, holistic boarding school experience.
Applications from experienced teachers and ambitious new professionals will be welcomed and considered.
Closing date for applications and interview:
Closing date: Wednesday 16th May 2025
Interview: Expected to take place week commencing 19th May 2025. However, we reserve the right to process any applications as they are received, and therefore interviews may be scheduled earlier than the above date.
