Leaders have put in place an ambitious curriculum. Leaders and teachers have high expectations of all pupils.”

The successful candidate must be fully qualified to teach within a secondary environment. The role will consist of teaching at KS3 and KS4.

About Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School

Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School is a mainstream secondary school for boys aged 11-18. This state voluntary-aided school is situated in West Derby, Liverpool. It is an oversubscribed, larger than average school with an excellent reputation in the sporting arena and increasingly in the arts.

High standards of behaviour are expected by the staff, who help create a close-knit community. The school was awarded specialist sports college status in 2001 and teachers use excellence in this sphere to inspire teamwork and academic progression in the classroom.

In September 2012, Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School moved into newly built premises, which has given its pupils access to innovative science, art, ICT, media, music, catering, technology and PE facilities, plus a new sixth-form centre.

“The headteacher provides strong leadership to the school. Newly appointed senior leaders have strengthened the school’s capacity to improve outcomes for all pupils. The leadership of teaching is good. The quality of teaching is improving quickly; professional development is a strong feature of the school. Progress in modern foreign languages is outstanding. Teachers build strong relationships with pupils to aid learning.”
