GSS are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Computing Teacher. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful, happy school which treasures its historic buildings and traditions. It is a high-achieving and well-regarded school where every member of the teaching staff is provided with an induction programme to support and enhance teaching and learning and have access to excellent programmes of professional development overseen by a dedicated member of LT. The school has very recently gained accreditation as a provider of the Certificate of Steiner Education which is internationally recognised (at various levels) as an alternative to GCSEs, A Levels and the International Baccalaureate.

Do you have a passion for your subject, the ability to teach up to the equivalent of GCSE and A Level and hold evidence of Continuous Professional Development? Then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities for the role:

  • To teach IT within the school;
  • To maintain a full record of attendance, effort and attainment of all students as well as records of lessons taught and homework set;
  • To ensure good supervision and discipline, through efficient planning and delivery;
  • To work with parents in partnership to enhance the learning experience;
  • To recognise and celebrate achievement in IT and to promote an awareness of the importance of IT in the community;
  • To initiate and maintain links with teachers and support staff where appropriate;
  • To work as one of a team in curriculum development initiatives within IT;
  • To contribute to other areas by negotiation;
  • Contribute to the ethos of this Steiner school.
