We’re looking to recruit a counsellor to join The British School of Nanjing, a Nord Anglia Education school.

THE SCHOOL

The British School of Nanjing (BSN) offers a modern and vibrant education to boys and girls aged 2-18. The school serves expatriate families looking to provide their children with a private education of the highest standard.

THE ROLE

As a counsellor at BSN, you provide a comprehensive PSHE and educational counselling service with the aim of mentoring and coaching teachers, empowering them to better support the emotional, social and behavioural development of all students. You consult with teachers, parents, and staff to enhance their effectiveness in helping students with a particular emphasis on the development of the whole school PSHE programme. 

ABOUT YOU

You have a strong background in working with young children aged 2 to 18, ensuring their growth and well-being. You handle pressure well and have good communication and interpersonal skills. Meeting deadlines and taking feedback in stride are strengths of yours, and you enjoy working in teams. You're organized, adaptable, able to offer counselling sessions in both Chinese and English; any other languages are an asset, Korean in particular.

OUR GLOBAL ACADEMIC RESULTS

The 2021-2022 school year was one of the strongest ever in terms of Nord Anglia Education’s academic results. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, our students achieved a 35.1 global point average, far exceeding the global average of 31.9. A third of students eared a perfect score of 45. In the A-levels, our students achieved 60.5% of grades at A*-A, along with 77.3% at A*-B.The group’s latest IGCSE student cohort, consisting of 2,351 students across 41 Nord Anglia schools, achieving an outstanding set of results, with 52.8% of grades at 9 – 7 for the year and 90.8% at 9 – 4.
