Job overview

Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a full time Construction Tutor to work within a specialist provision in the Newcastle area supporting students who have moderate learning difficulties and who struggle to regulate their emotions. This will be a long term, full time role to begin as soon as possible. For the right candidate there will be an opportunity of this leading to a permanent job.

This is a specialist provision which has an excellent reputation in supporting complex young people who require a high level of patience, commitment and empathy. The behaviour and attitude of the children can often be challenging so consistent experience in behaviour management and an engaging approach is essential.

To be considered for the position you must:

  • Have experience of teaching Construction and be comfortable leading classes in both Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Further Education
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of practitioners who all pull together to inspire in what is a challenging environment 
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons
