Job overview

We now have an opportunity available for a Technician to join us to provide support in the workshops and classrooms in a way that supports the lecturing staff and enables students to gain good practical skills.

Experience in working in a trade area including Plastering, Brickwork, Plumbing and Carpentry & Joinery, you will be providing technical support across the construction department, in the construction workshops and classrooms whilst classes are in practical sessions. You must ensure that the areas are kept clean, organised and are safe working environments for staff and students and set up specialist machines and equipment when required. Equipment must be maintained and serviced to an approved maintenance schedule which will be your responsibility, along with the ordering and accurate stock records and inventories for all materials, tools, equipment and machinery.

We are looking to appoint an individual who has at least three years’ experience gained from working in a relevant trade, such as Plumbing, Brickwork, Carpentry & Joinery and Plastering (or similar environment), you must have experience of using and maintaining machinery and ideally have knowledge of current practical assessment requirements for construction qualifications. The ability to repair and maintain equipment and machinery and assist with the construction of all assessment resources is essential.

Please note this role is full time and permanent position.
