The Role:

As a Consultant Engineer or Scientist, you will be working on research projects, collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines. You will be thinking about solutions to difficult problems using the knowledge from your discipline, ideas generation, research and development with real life impact.

Teaching and academic research lend themselves to a transferrable skills set, useful in a technology consultancy environment.  The ability to understand your subject and make others understand the details is a unique and useful quality for a Consultant Engineer / Scientist.

Awerian also routinely deploys fundamental science and in-depth engineering expertise, with domain-specific goals firmly in view, to deliver high-risk, high-reward, proof of concept investigations.

The Criteria:

You will have a postgraduate degree in the appropriate STEM subject, a solutions-based approach to problems and an interest in how the world works. Ideally you will have experience of: 

  • Conducting a research project
  • Project leadership
  • Technical communication, including grant writing
  • Supporting / mentoring students

Other areas of interest to Awerian, include:

  • Cyber security
  • Autonomous systems
  • Electromagnetics
  • Mathematical analysis

If you are an experienced Scientist or Engineer working in Academia or are currently teaching, perhaps you are a post doc, have experience of teaching, supervising students, writing grant proposals or leading projects and are looking for your next challenge outside of the academic field, we would like to hear from you.
