Job overview

 The Coordinator of Teaching and Learning supports the Head of College in exercising leadership of the Shellharbour Anglican College community. The person will contribute significantly in developing the College as a centre of quality teaching and learning. The Coordinator of Teaching and Learning works as a member of the School Executive (P-12), reporting directly to the Head of Senior School.

About Shellharbour Anglican College

Shellharbour Anglican College is a co-educational, non-selective, Anglican, independent day school, serving students aged 4-18 from Prep to Year 12. The all-through school, located in Dunmore, New South Wales, has approximately 740 enrolled students.

Shellharbour Anglican College was established in 2004. Commencing with a total of 93 students, the College has experienced a steady increase in student enrolments throughout its short history. The College caters to students across a wide area of the NSW South Coast, including Thirroul in the north and Berry in the south. Shellharbour Anglican College’s facilities include an Amphitheatre, Community Garden, Computer Laboratories, Design and Technology Room, Food Technology Room, Hospitality Room, Junior and Senior Libraries, multi-purpose Hall, Music Centre, Science Laboratories, Textiles and Design Rooms, Visual Arts Rooms, outdoor play areas, and indoor and outdoor sports courts.

Curriculum

Shellharbour Anglican College’s Prep curriculum derives from the Early Years Learning Framework and the NSW Board of Studies syllabus. The Junior School curriculum covers the NSW Board of Studies six Key Learning Areas of English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Creative Arts, Human Society and Its Environment, and PDHPE. Specialist teachers deliver Music, Italian, and PE lessons. In the Senior School, compulsory subjects for Years 7-10 are English, Mathematics, Science, Human Society and Its Environment, PDHPE, and Sport. Electives for Years 9-12 cover the areas of Music, Commerce, Geography, Technology, Visual Arts, Textiles, Design and Technology, and Food Technology. VET Tech and TVET courses are available for Years 11-12.
