Job overview

Corporate Partnerships & Career Network Manager – Haverstock School, Camden

Start: December 2017.  Maternity Cover  -  1 year in first instance

Would you like to grow your career as a key leader in an ambitious and diverse school in the heart of London?

Haverstock School is looking to appoint a Corporate Partnerships & Career Network Manager, to cover a period of maternity leave.

This is a superb opportunity for a talented individual who has the ambition and skills to make a difference to our children and families.   We are looking for a well-qualified and committed professional who can lead a highly effective and established team to manage the school’s world class community and corporate partnership programmes over the next year.

Your key responsibility will be to manage the outstanding Haverstock Career Network which is at the core of our Sixth Form offer.   With three Network themes – Business and Finance, Arts and Media, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) – the Haverstock Career Network (HCN) has been celebrated nationally for its strength in helping to bridge the gap between education and employment.

Some key programme highlights for students include:

• Mentoring from a professional business mentor.

• A series of guru lectures and masterclasses.

• Visits, workshops and events.

• Paid summer internships within a range of leading global companies.

• A free suit to enable them to present a professional image.

As part of a strong, determined team, you will work closely with the HCN board – composed of senior-level executives from across industry – as well as wide range of external stakeholders, and a cross-section of Haverstock staff and students.

While this post involves working closely with young people, you do not necessarily need to have professional experience working in an education-based context; though this would be an asset. You could perhaps be working within Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR), or come from a marketing, charity or private sector background and looking to gain experience within CSR.

What's important is that you are a confident, experienced professional with high levels of communication and organisation, and possess an ability to influence and interact at all levels.   A keen interest in advancing and further developing existing links with our long-term private sector relationships is equally important, as is a passion for working with young people.

Closing date for applications is Monday 30th October at noon.   Interviews will take place during the following week.

We are envisaging a start date of 2nd December 2017.

Haverstock School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

H3 is a values-based group of three schools who believe in the benefts of collaboration to achieve our aim of being a place where all can learn and grow. Comprised of Haverstock (mainstream secondary and Sixth Form), Harmood (SEMH secondary special school) and Heath (secondary pupil referral unit), our schools share expertise and resources and create opportunities and better outcomes for young people, whilst at the same time allowing each school to flourish with its own identity and community.

H3 was created in April 2023 following a two-year trial collaboration between Haverstock and Camden Centre for Learning under the leadership of the outgoing Executive Headteacher. Having seen the benefts of collaboration, the Governing Bodies of Haverstock and Camden Centre for Learning worked together to form a ‘hard Federation’ with a single Governing Body, whilst at the same time renaming the Camden Centre for Learning Schools Heath and Harmood. The Governing Body also has delegated authority from the Local Authority as the Management Committee of Heath School (pupil referral unit). H3 works closely with the Camden family of schools to enhance inclusion across the borough and our provision also includes the Camden Reintegration Base (CRiB), a short-term intervention for Key Stage 3 students in all Camden schools at risk of permanent exclusion and the Camden Pathways Programme, which commissions, places and quality assures alternative education placements in local settings for Key Stage 4 students.

Each H3 School has its own Head of School with responsibility for the day-to-day management of their school. They are supported by the H3 central team under the overall leadership of the Executive Headteacher. The central team has developed a service level agreement with Heads of School with the aim of providing high quality advice and support and value for money for each school.

As our collaborative work has grown and developed, we are increasingly able to provide bespoke pathways for young people, provide a range of career and professional development opportunities for staff and develop our inclusive practice in order to work towards achieving our aims.
