St Catherine’s Catholic School is a highly successful 11-16 girls school with nearly 1040 students in a pleasant location in Bexleyheath. The school achieves excellent results and the high quality of relationships are often commented upon. Ofsted (2019) judged the school good. We are looking to appoint the following member of staff. The school has excellent resources and is a great place to work. The school prides itself on its strong sense of community and pastoral care. Staff are friendly and professional. Supervision will be provided and there will be ongoing continued professional development. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic, committed counselling team. 

School Counsellor position:

Start date: ASAP

Permanent position, Term Time only.

2 days a week, 10 hours a week.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled, individual to join our team as a School Counsellor.

The role of a School Counsellor is to provide an independent and confidential counselling service to students responding to their personal, social, emotional or education concerns.

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

• A recognised counselling qualification at Diploma level (level 4) or Advanced Diploma Level (Level 5).

• Recognised ethical professional body membership such as British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy registration (BACP) or UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

• Experience in managing a counselling caseload.

• Positive communication and listening skills.

• Empathy and a non-judgmental approach.

• Enthusiastic approach in working as part of a team and be able to work independently.

• Ability to maintain professional and confidential case records.
