ROLE PURPOSE:
To educate all the secondary students about the university and career pathways as per their individual needs and ambitions
KEY ROLE SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY:
Develop and implement a competitive school counselling program from year 7 to IB
Evaluate areas of strength and advocate students using latest frameworks
No. of group and individual counselling sessions delivered in an Academic year
Value and respond to the diversity and individual differences of students
Coordinate progression interviews and target students for the individual support
Perform assessments, interpret tests and study student records (performance criteria)
Assess university placements of the students (% of students getting through their first choice of university)
Collaborate and consult with parents, teachers, community organisations and other stakeholders
Deliver assemblies and events during career options and career evenings Assess % of attendance of parents and students
No. of career events per year (minimum 4)
To perform duties within the codes of practice and ethics recommended by the KHDA or equivalent organisation
100 % adherence to local policies and practices
To work with the designated Leads and Heads and liaise with external agencies and parents to support students
Utilize Bridge U to support research into international universities
Offer advise related to standardized testing (SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, ACT, MSTATS) in a timely manner
Timely and desired assistance in research paper completion
Produce annual reports / review that reflects current trends and the counselling services performance, and presenting the report to the Senior Leadership Team
Increase school exposure through increasing the number of career events during annual year
Regular newsletter updates to stake holders for upcoming events and opportunities (University Fair)
Provide content for various communication channels
Annual reports to be submitted on time with current trend updates and implementation plan
Assess No. of university fair organized, and value delivered in comparison to the previous years
Timely release of new letter editions
Support students with personal statements, provide references and coordinate transcripts
Regular assistance to all the aspiring students for references and transcripts
PERSON SPECIFIC:
Education: Masters in University career and guidance counselling
Minimum Experience and Knowledge: Minimum 2 years of proven working experience in school counselling
