The successful candidate will be expected to lead the successful teaching and assessment of A Level Government and Politics, which is currently delivered through the Edexcel Board. The course is graded good.  Success rates are consistently above sixth form college averages, and slightly below for high grades. The Social Sciences Faculty as a whole is responsible for the successful delivery of Level 3 programmes to 800+ students.  As well as Government & Politics, the team deliver A-levels/BTEC Level 3 courses in Sociology, Law/Applied Law, Psychology/Applied Psychology and Criminology.  The team consists of 18 exceptional teachers who work collaboratively to ensure that students receive an enjoyable, challenging learning experience and realise their full potential.  Within the Faculty there is a strong supportive ethos and a culture of mutual support and development permeates the College and the Faculty.  As a new member of staff you will be assigned a supportive mentor and you will participate in the College’s outstanding CPD programme.
