Course Leader BA (Hons) Fashion

UCA is a top 40 university, this year entering the Guardian University Guide league table at position 39, with its School of Architecture placed 5th in the Subject listings. For over 150 years the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester has been leading the way for art and design education.

The School of Fashion is seeking to appoint a Course Leader for its award – winning BA (Hons) Fashion course at UCA Epsom. This course is one of the leading fashion design courses within the UK, with an international reputation for producing world class talent within the Fashion Industry. The post is an opportunity to be a key part of a creative team and dedicated learning environment and to lead this progressive, contemporary degree course.

We wish to appoint a dynamic and experienced person with the commitment and clear strategic vision to lead this influential fashion course. A good honours degree in Fashion Design is an essential requirement and you must have an excellent professional industry background. Ideally the applicant will also possess a Masters and PGCE or HEA membership.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate verifiable evidence of sound academic and administrative experience of an undergraduate programme in the subject area. You will be able to manage, motivate and lead a team by example. We are particularly interested in candidates with an established personal research profile and/or professional reputation. You should have an excellent knowledge of current educational issues, critical understanding of the social, cultural economic sustainable and environmental factors influencing the professional environment and contemporary Fashion practice.
