Location:         Baston House School, Bromley, Kent

Salary:             Up to £25,000 per annum

Hours:       37.5 hours per week; 8.30am-4.30pm

Contract:         Permanent, Term Time only

About us

Baston House School is an independent day specialist provider of education in Bromley, Kent for children and young people aged from 5 to 19 years who have been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.

Job Summary and Duties

KEY TASK AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide cover for short term/long term absence across the school to ensure continuity of learning for students
  • To flexibly provide teaching support in other areas where cover capacity allows, including intervention and learning support
  • For long term cover, assume the full responsibilities of the teacher, including planning, assessment and reporting to parents
  • Set high expectations both academically and socially/emotionally for all pupils
  • Collaborate with colleagues in areas of planning and assessment and whole school initiatives
  • Use assessment frameworks to monitor and track progress of pupils across time

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of work within an education setting  
  • Experience of planning, delivering and teaching lessons

Desirable

  • Relevant Teaching Qualification
