The Portsmouth Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and well organised administrator to join the School Office of the Senior School, to work term time only, Monday – Friday 8am -1.30 pm.

Reporting to the Deputy Head (Academic), the successful candidate will support the administration of cover arrangements, timetabling and examinations and will assist the School Office during busy periods.

Candidates must be flexible, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload and work accurately with attention to detail. A high level of IT proficiency is required and experience of using databases would be advantageous.

There will be the opportunity to work extra hours during busy periods.

Founded in 1732, The Portsmouth Grammar School (PGS) is a co-educational independent day school for pupils aged 2½ - 18 years, situated in the heart of Portsmouth, Hampshire.  This thriving school is just a stone’s throw from the Solent and comprises of a Pre-School, Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form, providing the very best education to 1,348 pupils.

ISI Report 2022

During an ISI Inspection in late 2022 both the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and the personal development of the pupils were found to be excellent - the highest possible classification. The Inspection also looked at the School’s compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements. PGS met all the standards required.
