Belmont Primary School is a successful, fully inclusive, oversubscribed two form entry school with a Nursery and specialist provision for pupils with visual impairment and physical/medical needs. We also have an assessment unit for pupils with complex needs.  Our staff are hardworking and enthusiastic and pupils enjoy learning in a stimulating environment. Belmont School is part of a hard federation with Woodside School.  The two schools share one Executive Headteacher.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic cover supervisor to provide release time for our Teachers as well as providing cover across the school as required. In addition, there are opportunities to lead pupil interventions.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Experience at covering classes at least across Key Stages 1 and 2.
Flexibility and an ability to use initiative
Excellent behaviour management and an inclusive ethos
An ability to communicate clearly using standard English, GCSE 'C' grade or equivalent in English and Maths

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to start in September or earlier if available to provide planned classroom cover, teaching the whole class in accordance with the teachers' plans. In emergency cover situations be responsible for planning and preparing lessons/learning activities and to delivering these in whole classes and small groups.

To work with small groups or individual pupils to provide learning opportunities which will support them in achieving their full potential.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
