This is not just another support staff role. It is an opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality learning, supporting students to succeed, and contributing to a culture of high expectations within a digitally innovative academy at the heart of a Trust driven by a deep commitment to creativity in education.

The academy is seeking to appoint a motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the team at BOA Digital Technologies Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about working with young people, maintaining high standards in the classroom, and supporting students to engage positively with their learning.

This is a particularly exciting time to join the academy. As the school prepares to welcome its first Year 11 cohort in September 2026 and looks ahead to the launch of a specialist Sixth Form the following year, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students at a crucial stage in their educational journey and contributing to the continued growth and development of the academy.

This role is ideal for someone considering a future career in teaching or education, or for an experienced practitioner looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and ambitious school environment.

The BOA Group is a unique and exceptional creative educational setting, committed to the highest standards of excellence. As a growing Multi-Academy Trust, we provide dynamic and innovative learning environments that serve as creative hubs for both the expressive arts and specialist technical and digital skills. We are a digitally innovative academy within a Trust driven by a deep commitment to creativity in education.

Currently comprising three academies—BOA Creative, Digital and Performing Arts (opened in 2011), BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy (opened in 2021), and BOA Digital Technologies (opened in September 2022)—all located in the vibrant centre of Birmingham, we are positioned at the heart of the West Midlands’ thriving creative and digital industries.

Our academies benefit from outstanding facilities that support academic achievement, vocational excellence and a rich programme of extra-curricular opportunities.

THE ROLE:

BOA Digital Technologies Academy is seeking to appoint an exceptional Cover Supervisor to join a committed team, working alongside staff and leaders to support high standards of teaching and learning across the academy.

As a Cover Supervisor, the postholder will play an important role in ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absence, supervising lessons and maintaining a purposeful learning environment. This is a role for a confident and proactive individual who can manage a classroom effectively, build positive relationships with students, and uphold high expectations for behaviour and engagement.

The successful candidate will support students in developing independence, resilience and responsibility for their learning. Through strong classroom presence and clear communication, they will ensure that students remain focused, complete work to a high standard and are

supported to succeed.

In addition to covering lessons, the role includes supporting small group interventions and providing mentoring for identified students, helping to remove barriers to learning and improve outcomes.

With a commitment to education and a passion for working with young people, the postholder will contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students are supported to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is driven to make a meaningful impact within the classroom and across the wider academy.

The Group believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners—to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first-rate educational environment with excellent facilities, outstanding teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. You will benefit from strong leadership, a collaborative staff culture, and opportunities to develop your skills and experience within education.

If you share the Academy Trust’s vision and ambitions, are committed to supporting young people, and thrive in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, we would be delighted to hear from you.
