The Southfield Grange Trust is a multi-academy trust located at the Southfield Grange Campus, in Little Horton, Bradford.  The Trust comprises of two schools, Southfield School, a generic special school and Grange Technology College, a large mainstream secondary school.

What is our Job Opportunity?  We have a permanent vacancy for a Cover Supervisor to join our existing Cover Supervisor Team at Grange Technology College.  The main purpose of the role is to provide supervision of classes during the short term absence of teaching staff, maintaining good order and keeping the students on task, using set activities. You will also be required to support the work of the pastoral or administration teams when not required for lesson duties.  If you are enthusiastic, highly motivated and able to engage effectively with children, educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (or have significant experience) including GCSE English and Maths (A – C) equivalent then we would like to hear from you.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate successfully with students and adults.

So, what can we offer?  Grange is a secondary academy located at the Southfield Grange Campus in the city of Bradford.  We serve some of the most disadvantaged students in the country and can offer a unique and rewarding environment for committed and highly skilled professionals who are interested in pursuing an extraordinary challenge in teaching.

Why now and why here?  Let’s be honest, in May 2016 Grange was graded ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted and placed into special measures.  We are now under new, experienced leadership who have a track record of success in similar circumstances.  Now is the time to do things differently and better and the work is well underway.  We have now received three monitoring visits by Ofsted who on all three occasions confirmed that “leaders and managers are taking effective action towards the removal of special measures.”  The subsequent Ofsted monitoring letters give detailed evidence of our progress against a rigorous school improvement plan which is being constantly evaluated and reviewed.  Read the letters in full at www.southfieldgrange.org.uk/grangeofsted .

We know where we stand and have high aspirations to turn the school around to a grading of ‘good’ within two years.  Our progress since May 2016 demonstrates that with the right people, a systematic approach and consistent application we will achieve this aim.  This is a time of great opportunity at Grange to be part of a journey and to achieve the ultimate aim of giving our students the very best start in life; the start they deserve.  Get on board now because our school is back on track and we are going places.

Want to find out more?  Find us online or pay us a visit:  A core focus of our turnaround plan is to be open and engaging. We have nothing to hide, we take pride in what we do and are committed to sharing information and celebrating our achievements.   We encourage potential applicants to visit and look around the school. Please contact our HR Team if you would like to arrange this: 01274 779662

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable young people and expect all staff, casual workers and volunteers to share this commitment.  Safer recruitment practices and procedures are in place to ensure a robust safeguarding culture.  The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and vetting check.  As required a “Teachers Prohibition Check”, “Section 128 Management check” and “EEA teacher regulatory authority restriction check” will be undertaken. References will be undertaken and proof of eligibility to work in the UK will be required before any employment starts.
