Who Are We?

The Laurel Academy is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Mexborough, South Yorkshire. The Laurel has been sponsored by Delta Academies Trust since November 2018. The aim of the school is to help each and every one of the students develop into mature and confident young people who are fully prepared for life beyond the Academy. We are extremely aspirational for our students both academically and in relation to personal development - each student is treated as an individual and we do not place limits on what we think they can achieve. All students are unique and have a valuable contribution to make to our Academy. We insist on the highest standards of behaviour and believe in an ethos of respect, courtesy, tolerance and hard work. We foster a ‘can do’ attitude where students are encouraged to move out of their comfort zone, participate in new experiences and not to fear failure. This, coupled with our state of the art facilities in a recently built and well equipped building, creates an environment where students flourish.
