Cover Supervisor

Great Oaks College is a specialist independent setting providing further education to students aged 19-25 with Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and Autism.

Due to our rapid and continued expansion, we are looking to appoint a highly skilled and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work with our college team providing cover for teachers during PPA, absences and occasionally to provide cover as a member of the support staff.

The successful candidate will deliver lessons planned with teachers to groups of students across the three pathways: Vocational, Life skills and Sensory. You will provide teachers with a record of lessons delivered and record student progress according to College protocol. You will also prepare learning resources for the delivery of lessons in line with relevant module plans.

You must be passionate about working with young adults with special needs and have previous experience of working in a special educational setting or similar environment. You must be competent with using Makaton signing and symbols for communication and essentially have experience of working with students with autism and complex needs. Actual Salary: £25,809 to £27,926 per annum 

Hours of work: 8.30am – 4.00 pm as, Monday to Friday. Term time only
