Actual Salary: £18,261 - £19,649 per annum
Hours: 32.5 hours per week. Term time only
The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust seeks to recruit an additional colleague to work with our team of Cover Supervisors across the Trust. You will largely be based at BBG Academy, where you will report day-to-day, but an ability and willingness to travel to the sites below is essential:
· Featherstone Academy, Pontefract Road, Featherstone, WF7 5AJ
· Rodillian Academy, Longthorpe Lane, Lofthouse, Wakefield, WF3 3PS
· Brayton Academy, Doncaster Road, Selby, North Yorkshire, YO8 9QS
Working in classrooms directly with our students, our Cover Supervisors play a pivotal supporting role in raising standards of achievement by implementing agreed work programmes with individual groups, in or out of the classroom. You will provide effective supervision to whole classes of students across all subjects and year groups. You will be conscientious and self-motivated and always working to support and motivate students. You will become a role model to our students and instil high expectations from the work you will be asking the students to complete. Interested candidates must have:
· relevant experience of working with young people in a learning environment
· a clear and positive communication manner
· an understanding of curriculum
· A GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
If you are considering a route into teaching, this is a perfect way to gain experience. With the appropriate qualifications, you could then go on to apply to train to teach with us on our exciting 1-year programme through the School Direct initiative in partnership with Leeds Trinity University and Leeds Beckett University.
The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust has a reputation for high expectations for all, excellent staff/student relationships and a commitment to the personal and professional development of its staff. The Trust is recognised as one of the top performing Trusts in the country and is committed to providing private school opportunities in a modern comprehensive environment. We believe that traditional values of discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness to staff and this has made for a harmonious and safe learning environment for our young people, and a supportive environment for staff. We are a happy and well run organisation and this is an extremely exciting time to join us. Furthermore, as a growing Multi-Academy Trust, there are always opportunities for career development and progression for ambitious and committed colleagues alongside access to high-quality CPD for all.
Prospective candidates are welcome to visit the Academy. Please contact Karen Marshall, PA to Principal on kmarshall@bbgacademy.com to arrange. Please note, the academy is closed from Friday 22 July until Tuesday 29 August 2023.

About BBG Academy
BBG Academy is an inclusive 11-16 school in the heart of Birkenshaw. As part of Resilience Multi Academy Trust, we hold the highest standards for behaviour and discipline; for aspirations within and beyond the classroom; for support within and around the school.
BBG Academy regularly appears in the top 20% of schools nationally, and within the top three schools in Kirklees based on both progress and attainment.
Ofsted’s 2021 inspection saw BBG Academy rated 'Good' in all areas - a fantastic achievement for all involved with the BBG community. The report indicates that “Staff and pupils are proud to be part of the school. One pupil described the school as a big family."
We believe that every single child can achieve their personal best with resilience and grit - and this tenet is at the heart of everything we do. From Year 7, our students are taught to be resilient in a dynamic, innovative curriculum that responds to educational research and the needs of our pupils.
Students have opportunities to learn how to be resilient in the face of difficulties and failure - in chess, British Sign Language, and in debate (amongst other things) at school - and in physical pursuits and independence found at our Resilience Camps. We teach them that with determination, improvement is not only likely - it is inevitable.
We are rightly proud of our students and their achievements - but it is our colleagues and the support from the wider Resilience Multi Academy Trust that makes us truly unique.
We ensure that our colleagues have the opportunity to teach without disruption, to continue their own professional development in a bespoke programme, and to ensure they have every tool they need to be successful in their career.
In short, BBG Academy is an amazing place to learn, to teach and to thrive.
