Madani Girls’ School is one half of the Madani Schools Federation, an Islamic secondary school located in the city of Leicester. Madani Schools Federation is a secondary school with separate streams for boys and girls, each having around 300 pupils aged 11-16, making it smaller than the average secondary school. Madani first opened in 2012 with its current streaming policy, having previously been fully co-educational. The school’s intake is made almost entirely of Muslim students.

Values and Vision

Madani Girls’ School runs an entirely separate stream of students and staff from its partner, Madani Boys’ School, although both share the same site. The school has an entirely female student and staff body, with separate recreational areas and staff rooms, but sharing certain facilities such as the library. The curriculum at Madani Girls’ School stays true to Islamic traditions, but still offers a balanced range of core subjects and GCSEs. The school also strongly emphasises the values of tolerance and respect for other faiths outside of school.

Ofsted

“Teaching in most subjects, including English and mathematics, is usually good and sometimes outstanding. This is because teachers encourage students to think for themselves. For example, in a religious education lesson, students were given the opportunity to think through the issues independently so that they asked the right questions and selected the most relevant information.”
