An exciting opportunity has arisen at Barking Abbey School for a male PE Cover Supervisor to work under the guidance of teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom including the supervision of whole classes during the short term absence of teachers. The successful candidate must have experience and qualifications of delivering practical PE lessons for a range of abilities.
The School is seeking male applicants for this position because the successful candidate must be able to enter the boys' changing rooms as required in the absence of a male PE teacher. The School believes that the need to preserve decency and privacy forms a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.

- Blind shortlisting by a panel against the Job description. Potential applicants are scored. Shortlisting by at least 3 people including one SLT.

- All assessed tasks are scored according to set criteria and scores are moderated to ensure consistency.
- All panel interviews and final interviews are scored. Each interview has a moderation process to ensure consistency of scores where appropriate. Questions are common to all applicants.
