£18,870 - £20,541 per annum (£9,765 - £10,629 pro-rata)

Are you interested in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? This is an exciting opportunity to become a Cover Supervisor in this new academy.
The Purple Oaks Academy has an exciting opportunity for a committed and talented individual who can provide cover in the planned and unplanned absence of Teachers for classes across the age and ability range within the academy.
You will be able to demonstrate a range of teaching and behavioural management techniques, which facilitate a learning experience that provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve high standards.
To be successful you will possess:
- the ability to engage constructively with, and relate to, a wide range of young people from different backgrounds
- excellent communication skills, at all levels
- the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Our purpose built new building opened in January 2018 and will provide 100 places for pupils (3-18) with a diagnosis of autism or Severe Learning Difficulties. The academy currently has 51 students and will grow each year until it reaches full capacity.
You will join a team of committed staff who are dedicated to ensuring pupils are prepared for the years beyond education and are supported to pursue their dreams.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who wishes to work in a unique environment. The role will expose you to challenging situations involving pupils with significant special needs; therefore experience of working with children with Autism would be advantageous. As this role is only required to work in term time only, it also offers the opportunity for a great work-life balance.
