We are looking for a PE-trained Cover Supervisor to join our Cover Team from September 2019. The post involves covering a range of different subject classes, including PE, of absent teachers by utilising pre-prepared tasks and ensuring the effective management of student behaviour. The primary focus will be to keep students on task and to maintain good order. Cover Supervisors will need to respond to questions and generally assist students to undertake set activities.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication, inter-personal and organisational skills and be able to use their initiative to respond to classroom situations. Candidates should be able to demonstrate flexibility and an ability to work under pressure as this role requires the postholder to adapt to different demands at short notice, due to the nature of cover requirements in a busy school.
The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday during the school day.
Additionally, we run an after-school homework and fitness club and the successful candidate would lead this club Monday – Thursday from 3.30pm until 5pm.
This position may suit a newly qualified PE teacher who is yet to secure their first teaching post.
The successful candidate will need to undertake first aid training, if a current qualification is not held.
We expect successful candidates to show within their application, and at interview, their passion for working with young people and be able to explain how they will embrace and support the school’s ethos. We are a Roman Catholic comprehensive girls’ school which admits boys Post-16. We value our Catholic ethos, but you don’t need to be a Catholic to apply to work for Notre Dame. We ask that all of our staff support our ethos and Christian attitudes.
If you feel you have the qualities we are looking for, please use the TES support staff e-application form to apply for this post. You will need to use your TES login to do this. Please see our website at www.ndonline.org for more information about our school. Please note that CVs are not accepted.
The school operates a Safeguarding Children Recruitment Policy and is committed to promoting the welfare of young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
