Job overview
The role
We are looking to recruit a committed Cover Supervisor to join our growing team and assist in covering a range of lessons across the school. You will be working alongside our current Cover Supervisors, and the secondary teaching team, to provide high quality teaching to students in the absence of teachers. You will need to be pro-active, organised, enthusiastic and able to use your initiative. As part of a small and growing team, a willingness to be flexible and develop as a professional are essential attributes. This position is well suited to someone thinking about pursuing a career in teaching and who wishes to gain some further experience before doing so.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Be confident in their ability to manage a whole class of students within the age range 11 to 16.
- Be able to communicate appropriately and effectively with young people.
- Be able to manage behaviour in the classroom to ensure students remain engaged in set work.
- Be flexible to work throughout the school within different departments and with different age ranges on a daily basis.
Applications are welcomed from existing Cover Supervisors, university graduates looking at a career in teaching or those with an existing teaching qualification looking for a cover role.
This is a full-time permanent post.
