Job overview

About Us

We are proud to base our approach to learning on an “Aspire and Achieve” ethos. We benefit from a strong local reputation which is the reason we have increased our admission number to 410 students to meet the demand from families in the catchment area. Our expansion has been facilitated by the acquisition of a third site for our popular Sixth Form in the town centre. This has led to a re-organisation of our students, with Year 7 and Year 8 educated at the Dove Campus and Years 9-11 at the Trent Campus, which are half a mile apart.

We were delighted by our Ofsted inspection of January 2017 which emphasises the outstanding aspects of our work, including high levels of progress and attainment. We value our staff team, and this is reflected in the wide range of professional development opportunities which are offered both internally and externally. In recent years, we have developed an international reputation for learning technologies, becoming both an Apple Distinguished School and Regional Training Centre; we provide a 1-to-1 iPad programme for all students in Year 9 - Year 13.

The Role

We are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to take responsibility for classes during a teacher’s absence. Specialist subject knowledge is not essential, but key attributes are flexibility and an approachable and positive manner. Cover is determined on a daily basis, and when not assisting in the classroom, you will be required to support in administrative tasks, preparation of resources/materials and contributing to extra-curricular activities. This post is full-time, term time only.

In Return

As the academy of choice for the local area, you will feel part of a supported community and, most importantly, a warm and friendly environment in which to educate our young people. We offer an employee reward package which includes car leasing discounts and our own independent travel consultant.

The Next Step

All prospective candidates are very welcome to tour our Academy and meet with members of the faculty as well as with our students. We are situated on the rural outskirts of Burton upon Trent, within easy access of Birmingham, Nottingham and Derby.

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to the successful candidate. If you wish to join this dynamic Academy, we look forward to hearing from you. Find out more by clicking here.

Closing date: 9.00am on Monday, 8th July 2019

Interview date: Friday, 12th July 2019

This Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and this position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
