Job overview

The WMG Academy Trust Board seek to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible person to cover lessons in the absence of staff.

The WMG Academy Trust opened its first academy in Coventry on Monday 8th September 2014 for up to 640 students aged 14 - 19. The second academy in North Solihull opened in September 2016 for two year groups, 10 and 12, and will doubled in size in September 2017.

You will be a key member of the WMG Academy Solihull team, covering lessons in KS4 and Post 16 during staff absence. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise some personal learning sessions in Key Stage 4. When there are no staff absences, other learning support duties will be required. This role will definitely involve a very ‘hands-on’ approach to whole group teaching and consequently we are looking to employ somebody who thrives in a student-facing, forward-thinking environment.

The key academic sponsor of the Academy is the University of Warwick. The Solihull Academy is located adjacent to Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre in North Solihull and boasts over £2 million of specialist equipment and ICT. Our relationship with a broad range of local, national and international business partners will allow the successful candidate to link his/her teaching to an applied, employment-led educational environment.

Further information about WMG Academy, Solihull can be found on our website solihull.wmgacademy.org.uk

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is subject to enhanced DBS clearance.
