Contract Type: Permanent, part time – 31 hours per week / 39 weeks per year
Salary: Grade 4 SP 9 - 12 (FTE £23,194 to £25,409 / Actual £16,621 - £18,209 per annum)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled professional to support teaching staff across the full age and ability range. Your main duties will be to provide classroom cover for absent staff, implementing set work, monitoring students and reporting on progress during short-term teacher absence. Previous experience of classroom management is essential.
Samuel Ward is a highly successful oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational comprehensive with 1300 pupils on roll, situated in pleasant surroundings on the western edge of Suffolk – 25 minutes from Cambridge.

Samuel Ward Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in Suffolk, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Haverhill has approximately 1,182 students on record. The Unity Schools Partnership Multi-Academy Trust has a partnership with schools across Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and Havering.
Formerly Samuel Ward Arts and Technology College, Samuel Ward Academy converted to academy status in 2010. It was identified as good by Ofsted in its most recent inspection in 2022.

Samuel Ward Academy’s vision is to inspire student’s love for learning and build their confidence and responsibility as independent learners, who achieve to the highest of their abilities. The Suffolk secondary school nurtures supportive relationships and wants students to feel valued during their time learning.
