Job overview

Are you an aspiring teacher or experienced TA looking for a Cover Supervisor position in an ‘Outstanding’ school?

Glyn School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisor to cover lessons during staff absences. You will be providing effective cover supervision for lessons on a regular basis, and providing stability and continuity for students whose lessons are affected by short-term teacher absence. Lesson plans and materials will be provided and your role will include registering the form and class, ensuring that students complete the tasks provided by the teacher and managing the classroom. You will have the opportunity to cover a wide variety of subjects including Maths, Science, PE and Games, Drama, English, Humanities, MFL, Social Sciences, Creative & Performing Arts and Technology. Our Year Groups will include Year 7 – Year 13 across Key Stages KS3, KS4 and KS5.

This role will be well suited for candidates who are looking to start their career in teaching or experienced teachers or TA’s who are looking to change direction and move into Cover Teaching. We are interested in hearing from all candidates, no matter what point in your career you are currently at, and welcome flexible working arrangements.

Glyn is ideally situated just ten minutes’ walk from both Ewell East and Ewell West stations, both of which are approximately 20 minutes from Clapham Junction and within Zone 6.

Why should you teach at Glyn School?

Glyn is a high performing school, with an Ofsted ranking of ‘Outstanding’ in 2009 and 2012. An oversubscribed 11-19 Academy, Glyn is the lead school in the successful and thriving GLF Multi-Academy Trust. We are a vibrant school for boys with 1229 students on roll (Year 7-11), and a successful mixed Sixth Form with 490 students.

Learning and Teaching is at the heart of Glyn. We aim to deliver lessons that inspire and engage students who will then go on to fulfil and exceed their potential. Teachers who have a passion for their subject and build strong relationships with their students cultivate a ‘love of learning’ that ultimately sees the young people we teach make exceptional progress.  We firmly believe that high quality professional development is an important part of excellent teaching and we enthusiastically pursue ongoing teacher development: CPD no matter where a teacher is in their career, is part of the fabric and culture of the school.
