Cover Supervisor

The Deanery CE Academy is a new school, in the heart of Wichelstowe with the most amazing facilities, inspirational staff and incredible students. We believe that we have a duty to enable all our students to flourish when they are at school and to equip them with the skills to live life in all its fullness - this is the foundation of our ethos and will form a significant part of our dialogue in all aspects of school life.

We have entered into our 5th year in September 2023 with our first cohort of students due to sit examinations in the summer of 2024, and are therefore currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team to provide continuity and consistency to students in the absence of regular teaching staff.

The successful candidate will cover a variety of classes, subjects and year groups across the school, delivering work pre-set my subject teachers, whilst building positive relationships with students to manage behaviour in the classroom in accordance with Academy's policies.

Strong communication skills are essential, as in the role of Cover Supervisor you will be required to form positive relationships with students, teachers and the Leadership Team.

This post would suit somebody with a natural ability to engage with young people between the ages of 11 and 16 years. This is a fantastic and varied opportunity for the right candidate and would suit an unqualified teacher, MPS Teacher or an experienced support staff member looking to possibly move into teaching or gain experience in a classroom environment as part of their career development.

This is a permanent post working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday term time only plus inset days
