An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. This position is well suited to someone thinking about pursuing a career in teaching who wishes to gain some further experience before doing so.
Our Cover Supervisors are responsible for delivering prepared lessons to classes of students during short term absence of teaching staff, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment is maintained. In addition to covering lessons, you may be asked to work with small groups of students within our Inclusion department, to support learning, behaviour and engagement with lessons.

The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise students carrying out pre-prepared learning activities.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a calm and focused atmosphere.
- Provide support and guidance to students to help them understand tasks.
- Respond to student questions and escalate any academic or behavioural concerns to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and any incidents.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the school.

- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Possess strong classroom management skills or the potential to develop them.
- Are reliable, punctual and have a professional attitude.
- Are able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Are able to adapt to meet the needs of all students.
