We require a Creative Design Technician to work closely with our dedicated Creative Design team, in an over-subscribed school, renowned for its outstanding results and special atmosphere.  You will have a passion for all visual and tactile arts, excellent organisational skills, the ability to work accurately and under pressure and have an understanding of safe working practices within a multi-faceted, design-based environment.  

This is a permanent post, for 37 hours per week, term time, plus training days and 1 week in the holidays, commencing in January 2021.  

The advertised job has two main aspects; firstly, supporting the teachers by getting the materials ready in advance of lessons, and, secondly, supporting the teachers in the lessons themselves by guiding and helping out students. Each of these aspects is equally important; we do need someone with a creative background but equally applicants will need to be comfortable getting “stuck in” there and working with students of all ages and all abilities. The current post holder, has a Graphics degree, a history of working in property renovations and, crucially for us, lots of experience of working successfully with young people. It’s a blend of technical skills and interpersonal skills that we are really after for this role. You will provide support to both teachers and students, sharing your subject expertise and competency in use of technology and machines as required.

You will need a background and some qualifications in a creative area. An ability to work with students of all abilities in the 11 to 19 age range is an essential requirement of the role.
