Garsington School is a Church of England, one form entry Primary School for 4-11 year olds, located in Garsington village close to both Wheatley and Oxford.  We are delighted that Ofsted have continued to judge our school as Good in our recent inspection in January 2020.

We aim to provide an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. We aim to inspire every child to have a life-long love of learning and to aspire to be the best that they can be. Our school is a vibrant, engaging and positive place where pupils and staff love learning. Children leave our school confident, ambitious and independent, ready for the next stage of their learning.

The school is a vibrant and happy community. Ofsted 2017

Our values of responsibility, enthusiasm, determination, kindness, independence, teamwork and enrichment are embedded into everything we do within a nurturing and supportive CofE school.

You have developed a very positive culture for learning. Staff and pupils understand and uphold the school’s values. One of these values is determination. Pupils say that they are encouraged daily to demonstrate determination by not giving up when their learning seems hard. Ofsted 2017

Everyone supports the school values that underpin our Christian ethos. Our values prepare children for living in a multi-cultural society. Children are passionate and confident to express their thoughts and views. The development of spiritual, moral, social and cultural skills is fully embedded across all aspects of school life. Everyone’s strengths, whether these are academic, technical, artistic, scientific or physical are recognised, celebrated and developed.

Staff are well trained, so they can identify what each pupil needs to learn next. This has had a positive impact on the amount of progress pupils now make. Ofsted 2017

We are very proud of our last SIAMS (Church of England) Inspection. ‘Everyone speaks of the school as a place where children are cared for and where individuals are loved, nurtured and respected whatever their ability or faith. Respectful relationships between everyone in the school are apparent and behaviour is impeccable.’ SIAMS November 2015.

Staff have been well trained and carefully supported. Ofsted 2017
