Abbey Hill School & Performing Arts College is a co-educational day school for pupils aged 3 – 19 years of age with moderate learning difficulties, ASD and Communication & Interaction difficulties.

The successful candidate will join a committed, successful and supportive team led by our Director of Performing Arts and have the opportunity to teach across EYFS & Key Stages 1 – 5.  

You will be responsible for planning and teaching music and dance lessons as well as choreographing, assisting with and directing performances both during and outside the school day.    

The school has had great success in performing for parents as well as in local community in events throughout the year. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate how they can add value to these events and develop community engagement further.    

The successful applicant will have the ability to  

• Work as part of an established team 

• Play an instrument to a minimum of Grade 5 (keyboard preferred) 

• Deliver extra-curricular Performing Arts activities/experiences outside of the school day

Ideally you will: 

• Have experience of working with children and young people with MLD/ASD/Communication& Interaction difficulties. 

• Be educated to degree level in a relevant subject e.g. music/dance/performing arts
