Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate performance Cricket Coach to coach and promote the sport amongst our pupils.  An ECB Level 2 coaching qualification is essential for this role.

Forest is very proud of its academic standing, of its reputation in a whole range of co-curricular activities and of its track record of looking after all students well. All staff are encouraged and expected to contribute, in accordance with their strengths and expertise, to the pastoral systems in place and also where appropriate to activities such as sport and other areas of School life.

The post offers an opportunity to gain extensive and worthwhile working experience in a large independent school. The work will be varied but mainly based on the cricket programme.

The Cricket Coach is expected to support the work of the PE Department and help with fixtures including Saturday and after-school matches.

This role is to be the main point of support for the Head of Cricket throughout the year, across all age groups in the school. The individual should look to lead the delivery and planning of sessions, both coaching themselves and assisting sessions within the school. There will be a requirement for clear communication, planning and cohesive thinking to contribute to a plan that monitors the progress of students from U12-U18. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and demonstrate a passion to develop cricketers of all age and ability.

The Forest School Ethos

Forest is a humane, open-minded school with both feet on the ground, in which the pupils’ all-round personal development is outstanding and academic attainment is high. It is, above all, a happy school which understands the rich inter-relationship between the curricular, the co-curricular and the pastoral. There is boldness in the School’s character, a readiness to be forward-thinking and adaptable, with pride in what we are and excitement for what lies ahead. We value growth, hard work, responsibility community, learning, diversity and wellbeing – values that are as applicable to our pupils as they are to our staff.

About Forest

Forest is a large, vibrant school, with approximately 1500 pupils from 4 to 18. Our traditional House structure means that each pupil is treated as an individual, of whom we have the highest expectations, while our size enables us to offer breadth and depth of opportunity.
