Tendring Technology is a key member of The Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), a multi-Academy sponsor which aims to provide the opportunity for all young learners to fulfil their real potential, broaden their horizons and become active, prosperous and successful citizens in the world around them. The College attained Teaching School status in July 2014 and is a large successful 11-18 mixed comprehensive school, which has two campuses; Frinton Campus (KS4 & KS5) and Thorpe Campus (KS3) with approx. 5 miles between sites.
The College welcomes all children who would cope with and benefit from a mainstream secondary curriculum. Students with particular special educational needs are supported as appropriate by extra help in lessons, by having some tuition in small groups, and in some cases by personal tuition. Students with physical disabilities are given every possible support and encouragement to achieve access to the mainstream curriculum. All students with special educational needs participate fully and we believe successfully, in the College community throughout their time here.
We are looking to appoint a Curriculum Access Practitioner to work in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures. You will support the work of the SENDCo, contribute to planning, development and decision making and undertaking related admin duties. You will also be expected to attend to student’s personal needs which may involve the intimate care of children that are not yet toilet trained, or are unable to toilet themselves.
The successful candidates will have previous experience of working with young people and will have English and Maths GCSE at level ‘C’ or above.
As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme and childcare vouchers.
