This post is an ideal stepping-stone for any teacher in Further Education who is interested in developing skills and experience in departmental management.

In addition to substantial teaching responsibilities in their subject area (ideally within science) the post-holder will work with the relevant Head of School and have a focus on monitoring quality systems, Internal Verification and Employability with regard to student’s study programmes. 

The successful candidate must have a degree (STEM related subject preferred) or a recognised advanced craft/trade qualification in the science discipline, along with class teaching experience gained either in a school or college setting.

For all positions, successful candidates will be expected to teach on a range of subjects and programmes across the subject spectrums including AS and A levels, BTEC National and key skills, up to and including Level 3. Excellent administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team are essential for all roles. You must also have a firm commitment to widening participation and equality of opportunity for all.

You will hold a hold a relevant degree qualification (or equivalent). You must possess a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or display a willingness to work towards achieving this.
