JOB PURPOSE

The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for overseeing approaches to delivery of curriculum across the Junior School (Foundation to Year 5). The prime responsibility is the development of curriculum practices to ensure continuity of teaching and learning, planning and programming, assessment, reporting and monitoring across year and section levels. 

This Middle Leadership position attracts approximately 30% additional release from teaching duties plus allowance.


KEY RESULT AREAS/ RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Head of Junior School to:

  1. Develop and implement procedures to ensure curriculum continuity across and between stages. 
  2. Ensure curriculum documentation is compliant with NESA  requirements and school expectations.
  3. Ensure that curriculum planning supports the school’s Visible Learning philosophy 
  4. Support teachers in planning and programming 
  5. Implement curriculum quality assurance processes in the respective school sections.
  6. Lead teachers in collaborative planning. 
  7. Support new teachers with teaching and learning, and curriculum needs. 
  8. Assist in the development of approaches that integrate the use of ICT across the curriculum.
  9. Identify , resource and assist in the implementation of appropriate professional learning
  10. Monitor Teaching and Learning and assist with staff appraisal.
  11. Other responsibilities as directed by the Head of School or Principal.

  2. Solid understanding of Australian curriculum and NESA expectations and requirements
  3. Ability to facilitate and lead quality strategic direction in planning and implementation of curriculum
  4. Proven skills in designing, implementing and evaluating differentiated learning experiences for students.
  5. Proven skills in using ICT to improve student engagement and learning.
  6. Excellent strategic problem solving skills.
  7. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.


QUALIFICATION

  1. Bachelor degree or equivalent in Education
  2. Eligibility for teacher registration in home country


EXPERIENCE

  1. Experience or potential to lead teams of teachers in a Junior/Primary School setting
  2. Experience and potential to facilitate curriculum growth and change 


OTHER DUTIES
